The
Pegasus IV, a single-stage spacecraft carrying Captain Chapman
and Lieutenant Makonnen, was sent to locate two missing rocketships.
A meteor shower damaged the ship and Makonnen was lost in space
while making repairs. Landing on mysterious planetoid, the surviving
astronaut succumbed to the atmosphere and shrank; the ship remained
unaffected, but the tiny inhabitants of the small planet set it
adrift in space. Later on, it was revealed that the planetoid
was in actuality a space vehicle, the flight of which was controlled
by its passengers.
